Here we are in Ushuaia. Lots of penguins, besides us, here. :) No one took our picture. We learned how to combine two pictures to make one. That is what this is. I think that is really neat.
Ushuaia is a cute, very little town. There are only 2 blocks before the town goes steeply uphill.
As you can see, there is a strong German influence here, too. We decided that the German influence here is more visible than anywhere we have been so far.
As I said, uphill to the residential areas.
A surprising thing about Ushuaia, known as the southern most City in the world is that they have upscale stores and shopping. They have top of the line electronics and outerwear. Many expeditions to Antarctica restock and some start here.
Even though Ushuaia says they are the southern most city in the world, there is a town across the bay from Ushuaia, but, even though it is further south, it does not count, since it is smaller and only a “town”, while Ushuaia is a “City”.
In the US we have “dollar stores”. In Shanghai, there are “2 huan” stores. But here, there are “free stores” . That is what the sign on this store says. We were sad to find out that everything in the store is not free. (just duty free, like most of you figured out)

What they didn't tell you was that the locals like to smear penguin doodoo on the head-holes of the penguin picture...but you probably knew that and brought your wipes, right?
