We didn’t actually get to La Possession. We landed in Le Port. (French only spoken here). We took the morning off for “our” time and after lunch we went out to take the shuttle bus to “town”.
While we waited, which was a bit since it was lunch break (you know from 12-2), we asked about the town. We were told we could go shopping, or go shopping or possibly go shopping. Since it was hot and rainy, we decided not to go shopping.
Reunion is an island country. It used to be a protectorate of France. That is why only French is spoken. It is a volcanic island. The active volcano is on the south side of the island. We landed, and most people live, on the north side. I definitely would have gone to the south part, no matter what it may have cost, if the volcano was doing anything. It was not. Usually, if Arleen is around, volcanoes stop whatever they were doing.
The clouds were beautiful.
