You had to be careful getting back on the boat after seeing the cave. Everyone made it on safely. That’s saying something, since some of the passengers, all from the ship, are not very mobile.
We passed a floating village. We saw children playing on the floating boards. They even had dogs. (that picture didn’t come out well enough to post)
More beautiful pictures.
Have you ever seen anything like this before? Yes, he is rowing with his feet. Later, we caught him changing to using his hands. But, wow.
As we sailed along, we were visiting a few floating produce markets. These boats were mostly manned by families. The younger the kids you showed, the more likely you were to sell bananas, ramatans and mangos. So,
you send your little one clamoring onto the tourist boat to sell the bananas and collect the two dollars. She was very good at holding out two fingers when asked “how much”.
When we got back to the Amsterdam, we saw a couple of begging boats rowing back and forth alongside. People were throwing food and money overboard and the boat people would fish it out with a long handled net.
What was the most interesting was that when the ship started to pull away, a motor launch came. The panhandlers rowed their boats to the launch, loaded up, and headed home. Makes you wonder.
