We did not do a lot in Arica. Just walked around the part of the town that is near the port.
This is a typical internet “cafe”, actually, there is no cafe at all. The last internet place we went to was a barbershop. They were supposed to take a siesta at 1pm, but since there were still men waiting to get their hair cut, they stayed open. I should have taken a picture of the haircuts. It seemed the only ones I noticed were the same. Very short until the top, and then, long. I guess that is the Chilean style.
This is a “casino” The machines are actually slot machines.
The main point of interest is this rock right outside the port area. No, I do not mean Duane, but the big rock behind him.
This is a view of the rock as we are leaving the area.
This is the statue that is on top of the rock. Yes, it is Jesus.
This is the park area right outside the port. There was, of course, a shopping area on the left side, with lots of local wares.
This is the town.
People like to play in the marina area. These were folks who were kayaking a minute ago and now are fooling around in the water.
I just notice that they put this on the front of the ship. Neat, huh.
